WHO WE ARE
We are Joseph and Brenda Trefren, members of Majority Arms, LLC. Majority Arms teaches self defense firearm skills serving Anchorage and Soldotna and we specialize in quality firearm instruction and supply. We are committed to meeting the needs of Alaska in training the free citizens of the United States, individuals and families, in the proper and safe use and handling of firearms. We acknowledge the God-given right for upstanding citizens to keep and bear arms. However, with this right comes the moral responsibility to discharge that right safely, responsibly and legally. Building upon that responsibility, we at Majority Arms, LLC offer the inexperienced, intermediate and advanced firearm enthusiast a great instruction experience. At Majority Arms we teach modern defense techniques needed to become proficient with all types of firearms.
OUR VISION
Our vision is for our neighbors to have the confidence and skills necessary to defend themselves and their loved ones when confronted with a violent or dangerous situation.
OUR GOAL
Our goal for our students is that firearm manipulations will become subconscious and automatic so when confronted with a self-defense situation they will be able to respond quickly and purposefully with a mindset to survive.
We are very excited to be the first business to bring the SP Turning Target System to Alaska! We will continue to strive to make your firearms training as realistic as possible.
Joseph is a USMC veteran who is an Alaska State Certified and NRA Certified Firearms Instructor and Range Safety Officer. Joe has been trained by numerous nationally recognized instructors and has over 40 years of firearms experience. He has lived on the Peninsula for over 20 years working as a Registered Nurse at the local hospital. Joe enjoys fishing and hunting and his passion is long range markmanship and Close Quarters Training.
Brenda is a lifelong Alaskan. She is an Alaska State Certified and NRA Certified Firearms Instructor and Range Safety Officer. She is a Gunsite Academy graduate who is one of only a handful of women to graduate with the honor of the Expert Certification. She has trained under the nation’s top firearms instructors and is an AR15 Armorer. Her desire is to be an encouragement to women, teaching them the skills and mindset necessary to be confident with a firearm. “After training with us, I want our students, women especially, to feel so confident with their firearm that they won’t even have to think about it when they need it-it will be subconscious.” Brenda is homeschooling their 5 children and works occasionally as a Registered Nurse at the local hospital.
