COURSE INFO

REQUIREMENTS

  • FIREARM RENTALS  AVAILABLE $35
  • Proof of no criminal background. I will request your photo ID prior to class to run a no cost background check. 
  • Revolver or semi-automatic handgun (Full size gun recommended), MINIMUM CALIBER: .380 
  • Out side the waistband Hip holster
  • 2 extra magazines preferred (2 magazines minimum) or 2 revolver speed loaders
  • 250 rounds of ammunition minimum
  • Belt
  • Magazine pouch to hold at least one magazine on your belt line. 
  • Appropriate clothing (ball cap, closed toe footwear, etc.)
  • Safety glasses
  • Electronic Ear Muffs are Mandatory ($5 to rent or $50 to purchase) 
  • A packed lunch
  • A safe mindset and a positive attitude
  • An Uplula Universal Speed Loader is HIGHLY recommended (you won’t regret the purchase)

RENTALS

Firearm & Gear Rentals available-$35 Firearm rentals are 9mm and come with all gear needed except ammo .                               

Course Covers:

  • Basics of how a firearm and ammo function
  • Firearm safety
  • Proper mindset for surviving a violent situation
  • Principles of self-defense
  • Situational Awareness​
  • Fundamentals of shooting using the Modern Pistol Technique
  • Proper gun-handling skills.
  • Tactical and speed reloads, trigger control, clearing malfunctions (Type 1, 2 and 3) and stepping off the ‘X’ , finding your balance of accuracy and speed, close quarters shooting, moving with a gun and handling a firearm under stress. 

CONCEALED CARRY ADDITION

  •  After completion of this class, you will be eligible to attend the Law Enforcement lecture portion of a Concealed Carry class to obtain your Alaska Concealed Carry Permit for an additional $50.
